SYSA SAFE RETURN TO PLAY-
SYSA believes there is a need for keeping our kids acclimated to the game of soccer, and physically active to boost physical, mental and emotional well-being. With that in mind, we will be offering a COVID-19 safe return to play option of socially distanced conditioning, drills and skills camp in place of our regular fall season.

FAQ Regarding SYSA Fall Season:

Are we going to have a fall season?

At this time we are still hopeful to be able to provide soccer to our families although it may be modified to fit into the guidelines for State/County recommendations for COVID-19 safety.

What will the season look like?

We plan to have players come together for drills, conditioning and practice. As of right now those are the only approved youth sports related activities approved at this time.

Will there be any games?

Not at this time. Our main focus for fall will be to keep our kids acclimated to the game, build on skills, provide a place for physical activity and (socially distanced) interaction with friends. If the County lifts restrictions and allows for games we will put together a games schedule for the remaining weeks.

How long will the season be?

This will be a 9 week program, same as our typical soccer season.

Will there be an additional cost?

No. The cost of our season is $100 for U6, $110 for U8 and above. If you have registered for the fall season or asked for your Spring 2021 fees to be rolled over, then your fee is paid.

Are we getting our money's worth to participate?

Yes, a typical week-long summer camp runs typically ($100-$150) for a week. You will be getting 9 sessions of skills, drills and conditioning. The typical player, being asked to sit out for a full year of soccer, will lose about 10% of their overall soccer career. We are hoping to fill the gaps, as much as we can, to keep the love of soccer for the player. The longer a child sits out of their sport, the less likely they are to return to the game when the time comes.

How will this work if I have multiple children?

That’s the best part. We have secured Arch Rd (Regional Sport Complex) so all age groups will be practicing at one location. Different time sessions will be assigned. Sessions will be Saturdays between 9-12.

What if I can't make the assigned practice time?

Because we are not doing any physical contact at this time. We will have some movement on times players are able to attend. However, we do want to make sure that we are not overwhelming any particular session with too many players. So a request to move times must be approved by the Board. Once a player moves session times, they must stay in that session for the duration of the season.
